EDGEWORLD
People milled about in the streets, looking for a comfortable place to stand. The lucky ones had a bench to sit on. Most were not so fortunate, and stood in line waiting for the local housing department office to open. The trivision screen, a projection that spanned thirty feet across and hung over the city square like some sort of enormous insect, flickered on automatically and a cheery voice narrated the commercial.
“Population is on the rise! Overcrowding threatens to spread disease! Fights break out in the city streets! As we all know, terraforming is expensive and takes time that we no longer have! What solutions do we have?”
There was a long dramatic pause as the music built up.
“Edgeworld!” gasped the narrator, as the advertisement showed clips from the initial survey of the alternate Earth. A shockingly beautiful sunset rising over floating mountains panned into view. Edgeworld was a fascinating place, both scientifically and to the common person. It consisted of enormous floating continents held suspended in the air by some force unknown to human science. A molten core was visible thousands of miles below, prompting some acrophobia in even the most level-headed people. The air was pristine and clear, showing beautiful alien stars by night and the pink-tinted sun by day. The gravity was lower, which made for easy exploration. Even so, scientists had plans to install artificial gravity within the city walls, and stabilizers to prevent collisions between floating islands.
“How is this possible?! By the amazing insight and intelligence of our Earth’s finest scientists! Through our very own Dimension Gate, the heroic Doctor Weldon Edge, (the discoverer of Edgeworld) has led a science team through the Gate and found Edgeworld to be the perfect solution to our little Earth’s problem!”
Here the narrator lapsed into the uninteresting physics behind the Gate, and behind Edgeworld itself. The citizens in the square might have been more interested if the advertisement had not played hundreds of times in their lives already, and had they been scientists themselves. Letting the ad drone on in the background only added more pressure to their already monotonous lives. It was the last line of the advertisement that caught the citizen’s attention and filled them with a longing that would not be denied.
“…Want some elbow room? Come to Edgeworld, where the gravity is light and the space is wide!”
***
The city of Telosis held the Gate. When the Gate failed, stranding thousands of people on Edgeworld, panic broke out. The Governor assured everyone that the engineers on both sides were surely trying to solve the problem and would have a solution soon. This assurance worked, for a little while, until years passed and the Gate remained silent and empty.
“Sarah,” a voice called, snagging a young girl’s attention. She sat in the back of the classroom, gazing out the window and very much distracted by the flock of winged deer that played around in the distance. She looked up at her teacher sheepishly. The teacher frowned back at her, and continued on with the history lesson. “As you all know,” the teacher droned on, “Earth is our homeworld, and we have been stranded here for twenty long years.”
“Stranded,” Sara scoffed silently to herself. She had never known Earth. She had been born on Edgeworld, a mere four years after the Gate had fallen. Her parents had told her they’d come for a better life. They’d barely been able to afford it, but Sarah’s mother had admitted she did not want to raise a child in the tiny confines that had been their home on Earth. As for the Gate, they did miss the luxuries that were no longer a part of daily life, such as automated cooking and easy-access information, but life on Edgeworld seemed so bright in comparison with the dull gray of the machines. “I never want to go to Earth,” Sarah concluded to herself.
When class ended, Sarah raced home in leaps and bounds. The gravity here, she had been told, was like that of another planet she cared not to visit: Mars. (Edgeworld’s was in fact a 3.8 m/s^2) Sarah did not remember the times when there had been ‘normal’ gravity within the city walls. She had been too young. Because of this, she could not imagine walking in any other way.
As Sarah ‘walked,’ she passed a section of the city wall where there had been a breach. Slowing down, she paused to eavesdrop on the guards stationed around the hole. Of course she knew what had caused it, but she was curious as to what the guards knew.
“If we had our weaponry working,” one guard said to another, “we could blast those beasts right out of the sky before they could blast us.”
“Maybe,” replied the other guard. He seemed unsure about this course of action. “It didn’t actually hurt anyone…It poked its head through the hole and left.”
Well, that was interesting. Sarah smiled to herself, resuming her chosen gait for the duration of her walk home. Dragons…They weren’t exactly the dragons from storybook and legend, but it was what the people of Edgeworld had taken to calling them. Sarah liked the critters, and found their mode of travel graceful. Flight was beautiful.
She also found the draconic conversation to be most fascinating.

Aha. Welcome friends, to Edgeworld. I have had this entire world cooked up for over a year now, and perhaps now is the time to finally share it with all of you. As you can tell, this is somewhat of a sci-fi roleplay, but I’ve never been one for the ‘scientific’ part of sci-fi. So in short, don’t narrow your focus on what is scientifically possible; focus on what is scientifically fun.
Plotline
After we get basic introductions sorted out IC-wise, I will be introducing an element that should start up some storyline on behalf of the RPers. If there is a side-story that you would like your characters to experience, please PM me about it and I’ll see what I can do. Anyway, what should you expect? Obviously the Gate is going to be a huge part of this RP, which may revolve around those who want it fixed and those who do not. It’s up to you to pick a side.
Characters So. There are different character types in this roleplay. I’m allowing up to two characters per each RPer, but I may make an exception if I see fit for more.
Humans: Obviously there are humans in this RP, which is unusual considering I’m writing this. I hate human RPs. XD Anyway, there’s two ‘types’ of humans. There are the Pro Earth people, who dislike Edgeworld and want to return to Earth to be back in the realm of modern comforts. The extremists want to fix the Gate and return home, and hopefully shut down Edgeworld completely. There are the Edgeworldians, who were either born here or like it better than Earth. The extremists will try to stop the Pro Earthans from fixing the Gate, and may use deadly force.
Dragons: So yes, there are dragons in this RP. If you didn’t see that coming, you don’t know me well enough. At any rate, the ‘dragons’ are broken into groups too, which may be a bit more complicated than the human ‘factions.’
First up, there are two or so types of dragons. We have the large, many-winged kind that rarely land and are fairly even-tempered. These I have elected to call the Amica. The Amica have the curious ability to absorb light at an extremely fast pace, and expel it as an energy that can and will burn things on contact. This however cannot be done indefinitely, and it does take a few minutes to charge between ‘shots.’ Also this ability is nulled by darkness. On average, an Amica is anywhere between 40 to 60 feet in length, and have up to six sets of wings. Their largest set of wings have up to a 55 foot wingspan. Amica also tend to be mellow, pastel colors.
Their smaller, darker, and much grouchier cousins are called the Inva. These types may actually possess a set of legs, and they are for the most part, nocturnal. (They also don’t have as many wings as the Amica, usually stopping at three or four sets). They dwell in caves, as the floating continents are riddled with enormous cave systems fit for any dragon. The Inva do not have the same light-bending abilities as the Amica, but they do have a rather caustic venom that will eat through a wide variety of materials. Inva are on average, 15 to 30 feet long, with a primary wingspan of 32 feet.
To further complicate things, the dragons may have chosen sides as well. Those who communicate with the humans may have found them to be downright likable, or dirty insects that must be wiped off the face of Edgeworld. Those who haven’t communicated with humans may be influenced by those who have. So you have the Pro Human group and the Anti-Human group.
Setting Alright so if you hadn’t guessed already, this RP DOES take place on Edgeworld 20 years after the failure of the Gate. That being said, if you wish to have a character that is able to speak with the dragons, they would need to be 20 years of age or lower. They had to have been born on Edgeworld. The reverse rule applies for anyone who isn’t able to speak with dragons. Telosis is our main city. While there are other cities that are reachable by zeppelin or by dragon, I’m not sure we will be visiting them in the duration of the RP unless something unforeseen happens. That may very well be the case, which I don’t mind at all. The city is divided into two parts. There’s the rich district, where the Governer lives. He has all the remaining technology locked up so it doesn’t get misused. Then there’s the rest of the city, which functions as a middle-class would.
Would anyone like me to draw a map?
Rules: 1. No Mary-Suing, godmodding, metagaming, powerplaying, auto-hitting, etc. If you have to ask if it is okay, it is probably not okay. Even so, if you have permission from the character’s owner I don’t mind as long as you alert me. 2. What I say goes. Don’t argue with me, as it will make me cry. 3. Don’t stall the IC. Patience is a virtue that I don’t have. This is supposed to be a rather casual RP, so don’t feel pressured to post, but do make sure you put something in so I know you’re still alive. 4. No bad language or sexual activities. Basic forum rules. 5. Blood/violence is okay by me as long as you don’t go into extreme detail. 6. Don’t eat the IC. While I’m sure whatever your post is about is fascinating, I don’t want to read five pages of how pretty the flowers are. 7. Read everyone’s posts. You don’t want to look stupid when you don’t know what’s going on, do you? 8. As mentioned before, only two characters are allowed per person right now. I may make exceptions to this rule later. Make sure your characters are interacting with the other characters as well, and please try not to split the group, as keeping up with two storylines is exhausting. 9. No flame wars on the OOC. If you have questions go ahead and post them, but please be civil. You don’t want to make me cry do you? I’d rather not get cussed out on my own OOC again. 10. Be creative! Be original! Don’t be cliché! In this sense, this is a LITERATE RP. Please post at least a paragraph. 11. Do not kill anyone’s character unless you have permission from that character’s owner. 12. Read these rules. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. If you read the rules put ‘pasta’ in the Other section of your character sheet. 13. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ADD OR SUBTRACT FROM THE RULES AT ANY TIME, SHOULD SOMETHING COME UP THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

ACCEPTED CHARACTERS
Humans
Sairei
Sarah Silver:
Name: Sarah Silver Gender: Female Age: 16 Race: Human Ethnicity: Caucasian Faction: Edgeworldian Appearance: Sarah wears a black zip-up hoodie at all times, usually with blue jeans or black sweatpants. She has long, wavy brown hair and purple eyes. She is neither skinny nor overweight, but somewhere in-between. Height: 5’ 7’’ Personality: Sarah is a witty, sarcastic individual who prefers to be alone rather than in the company of others. She is introverted by nature, but this does not stop her from speaking her mind should something truly bother her. If she’s got something to say, you can guarantee she will say it while avoiding useless ‘small talk.’ Sarah is not afraid of heights, but rather fears being completely and totally alone. This is an odd coupling with her introverted personality, but it is the fear of knowing no one is there and that no one cares that gets to her. It takes a long time for anyone to earn Sarah’s trust, but she is a firm believer of ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’ Sarah is extremely loyal to her friends and family, and would never hurt anyone she loves or cares about in any way. However, be advised that Sara is quick to anger, and can easily scar with words. Skills: Sarah is good at mediating between people, often without meaning to. She also knows how to fly some of the smaller aircraft on Edgeworld, and loves exploring. Other: I really want some pasta right now.
Jack Taylor, the Governor:
Name: Jack Taylor, also referred to as The Governor Gender: Male Age: 45 Race: Human Ethnicity: Caucasian Faction: Pro-Earth/Neutral Appearance: Mr. Taylor is most often seen in a gray business suit with a black tie. His eyes are a bright, cold blue. He has short black hair, which is often covered up by a gray fedora. He is slightly overweight, but this does not distract from his powerful visage. Height: 5’ 9’’ Personality: Outwardly, Mr. Taylor displays the characteristics of a confident billionaire. He is a successful businessman, and he lets his inferiors know it. While not cruel, he is unyielding and doesn’t take advice or criticism well. Inwardly, Mr. Taylor fears he may lose control of Edgeworld should the citizens become dissatisfied with how he has chosen to run things. He and his guard have a cache of energy weapons and most of the other Earthan technology in their personal storage, occasionally indulging in it when they see fit. When angered, Mr. Taylor becomes very cold and commanding. It is best to speak to him respectfully. Skills: Smooth-talking and keeping the peace, either by force or with words. He’s very convincing, if not physically powerful. Other: This pasta is really good.
Zayne Dandridge:
Name: Zayne Dandridge Gender: Male Age: 19 Race: Human Ethnicity: Caucasian Faction: Edgeworldian Appearance: Zayne is tall, dark-haired, and blue eyed. He has a thin frame, but he is well-built and possesses an unusual strength for his size. He is usually seen in dark gray clothing with thin silver stripes, or his blue and gray guard uniform. He has a crooked smile, but his expression is usually a default scowl. Zayne is considered handsome by your average girl, but he doesn’t know that or particularly care. He is determined and confident in his stance, and basically looks like a man on a mission. Height: 6’ 2’’ Personality: Zayne is an explorer. He has a fascination for the outside world beyond the walls of Telosis. He’s something of a loner, having few close friends. However, he is neither socially awkward nor a bad leader, should the situation arise. Mostly he’s a loner because of his expeditions outside the city walls, as no one typically accompanies him. Zayne is definitely willing to come to blows over staying on Edgeworld, as the more he hears of Earth the less he ever wants to see it. He does not want the Gate fixed, and dislikes the guards and the Governor with a deep loathing. He continues being part of the guard mostly for sabotage and spying purposes. Skills: Zayne is somewhat of an acrobatic, and performing parkour his forte. He is also well-versed in flying zeppelins, personal fliers, hot-air balloons…and dragons. Being part of the guard, Zayne is also skilled in the use of weaponry, both old-style and the advanced technology that the Governor keeps locked up, as well as hand-to-hand combat. Other: Let’s get more pasta.
ThePrussianCompy
Isaac Robin:
Name: Isaac Robin Gender: Male Age: 43 Race: Human Ethnicity: White Faction: Pro-Earth Appearance: Isaac is a pale man with black hair, which is well kept, brown eyes, and a rather muscular build. His age has given him a black beard, which isn’t incredibly thick but apparently enough to cover the skin underneath. It hasn’t really disappeared, which suggests that he tries to keep it that way. Isaac’s body is covered in various scars, most unnoticeable. These injuries come from years of scientific work – most occurring after the gate shut down, in attempts to reopen the gate, open a new one, and other experiments, unrelated or otherwise. Isaac’s clothes tend to be long-sleeved, safe for the warmer days. He doesn’t seem to wear what can be considered as “casual wear;” Anything he wears could probably be found in an office environment – blue, buttoned shirts, khakis, collars, the occasional tie. The most common colors in his wardrobe are a pale blue, tan, or white. His formal wear isn’t too different, but perhaps with a black or tan cotton jacket that you’d expect any scientist to wear. His shoes consist of a single pair of polished black shoes. Height: 6’1” Personality: Isaac is a rather serious character most of the time, though he does have a sense of humor. He is also kind to others, however indirect it may seem. He is a scientist, and thus has a thirst for knowledge – he wouldn’t necessarily go to extremes to retrieve it, however. His pro-earth stance isn’t an extremist at all – he is a man who still thinks that the two worlds could coexist. He is also rather lonely, having left his family behind when the gate closed, though it rarely shows (in public). Skills: Isaac is a particularly good scientist; a minor celebrity in his home country on earth. He is good at problem solving – when he has a minute or two to think about it. He is also well-muscled, and thus able to put his body through a lot of strain without tiring (that being said, he has difficulty maintaining it in this lower-gravity environment). Isaac is an expert in several fields, notably astrophysics and history. He could be considered your go-to man for any information about earth. Other: Isaac was born in a big city. He and his parents soon moved out of the city, showing their son the good side of the now polluted earth – what keeps him pro-earth today. He has a 40-year old wife and a 20-year old daughter, as wall as an 18-year old son. He is fond of pasta, especially cheese ravioli.

Vitaly Zakharovich Ankudinov:
Name: Vitaly Zakharovich Ankudinov Gender: Male Age: 19 Race: Human Ethnicity: Russian Faction: Edgeworldian Appearance: Short blonde hair, blue eyes, freckles.Appearance: Short blonde hair, blue eyes, freckles. He likes to wear white t-shirts with the sleeves cut off (more comfortable, says he), light blue jeans, and black boots (sometime he goes without shoes). He usually has his favorite sunglasses up on his head (he forgets they're there all the time). He is well muscled, due to the fact that he is always out and about in the uninhabited parts of Edgeworld, and when he's in the city he's usually on a roof somewhere. Height: 5' 11" Personality: Vitaly tends to be quiet, but sociable, and listens well to others. He smiles a lot, but in a soft sort of amused way. He feels strongly about staying on Edgeworld because of his fondness of the animals and dragons. Even with his quiet demeanor though, he likes to joke and prank, but not in a way that would be harmful. Skills: Is quite good with animals, including dragons, and finds that he likes being out in the woods/uninhabited parts of Edgeworld rather than the city. He knows the tricks and secrets of using camouflage to hide, and even though he doesn't like the city quite as much as he does the more 'wild' parts of Edgeworld, he know his way around the city, and can get you where you need to go, especially if you don't want to be seen. Other: Pasta actually sounds really good right now :I
Dragons
Sairei
Lykuran:
Name: Lykuran Gender: Male Age: 36 (Young for a dragon) Race: Dragon Ethnicity: Inva Faction: Anti-Human Appearance: Lykuran is a gray Inva with yellow eyes. He is approx. fifteen feet in length, and possesses three sets of wings. (Two on his back and the third set on his legs.) He has two back legs, which are equipped with sharp claws. He has small spines all the way down his back, which are a dark gray in color. His body is marked with vertical thin stripes that are a darker gray, giving him a tiger-like pattern. He has long frilly ears that extend a good foot off his triangular head, and a black frill that runs from his forehead to the base of his neck. Height: Lykuran, when standing on his back legs, is seven feet tall. Personality: Lykuran hates humans. He hates their outposts. He hates the way they smell. He hates their machines that flood the skies. He hates how they take his prey. He is a feisty dragon, with a cruel attitude and a silver tongue. He can be extremely smooth when he’s up to it, and is well aware of what power he holds over his kin. He does not trust anyone. He is the leader of the Anti-Human dragon faction, despite his small size. If it were up to him, he would have the outposts wiped off of Edgeworld with light and venom. He sees humans as invaders claiming territory and skies that isn’t theirs, and he wants to take it back by force. He however, is not above helping the extremists in the Pro-Earth faction fix the Gate. Skills: Lykuran is extremely persuasive. He is also quick in the air and on the ground, which is unusual for his kind. Other: Yeah pasta sounds good.
Mireth:
Name: Mireth Gender: Male Age: 112 (middle aged) Race: Dragon Ethnicity: Amica Faction: Pro-Human Appearance: Mireth is a subdued yellow color, tinted faintly green. He has deep green eyes, and three sets of wings. (Primary wings that can function as arms, secondary as basic air stabilization, and tertiary act as a rudder on the end of his tail.) He does not have legs, and when landbound (which is rare) he slithers like a snake. His head is decorated with a yellow frill that extends from his forehead all the way to the base of his long neck. The rest of his back is bare, except for the last few feet of his tail, which also has a yellow frill. Height: When landed, Mireth rests at an even 12 feet in height. Personality: Mireth is a calm dragon, relaxed in almost any situation. He is rather fond of the humans, as he sees no harm in them being there and recognizes how fearful they must be. He acts grandfatherly towards most people, including his own kind. He is seen as wise, even though he is not very old. He is a kind dragon, but does not have much experience with humans. While very laid back, Mireth can be a fearsome fighter. He is slow to anger, but once riled there is not much that can hold him back. Skills: Mireth is a very talented flier. He spends a lot of time wheeling about in the currents and the sunlight. He also seems to be able to fire light energy at a faster rate than some other dragons, but only by a few seconds. Other: I think I’ll go get some pasta.
Silauze:
Name: Silauze Gender: Female Age: 296 Race: Dragon Ethnicity: Amica Faction: Pro-Human Appearance: Silauze is a dusky rose colored dragon. She is small for an Amica, some of the largest Inva rivaling her in size, and frail due to age. Her head is decorated with a large assortment of frills that move and wave as she does. She has long frilly ears that droop, and many of her scales are faded. She possesses two very large sets of wings, though she seldom flies anymore. Silauze is soft to the touch, her scales having lost their natural hardness. Her eyes are a deep, carmine red, a tribute to her faded youth. Height: Silauze does not stand as she used to, and her size has decreased. Landed, Silauze rests at seven feet in height. She is approximately 35 feet in length and has a primary wingspan of 30 feet. Personality: Silauze is very kind. She doesn’t like to hurt things, even prey, and thus only eats when she absolutely has to. She is very mellow, often coming off as something of a lovesick puppy. She is very whimsical, and has very little care for the real world. She is easy to like, and easily impressed by acts of bravery. She has a certain fondness for humans, mostly because she finds them cute. Skills: Silauze is a dragon poet. She loves poetry. She is also one of the few dragons to learn how to swim. Being that bodies of water are rare and seldom deep on Edgeworld, swimming is not typically an activity that one can do. Silauze inhabits a small lake, as she finds swimming easier on her body than flying or slithering. She lives off the fish. Other: She can’t eat pasta. ;-;
Whitefire
Kirauk Sorahn Mar:
Name: Kirauk Sorahn Mar Gender: Male Age: 189 years Race: dragon Ethnicity: Inva Faction: Pro-Human (well, he tolerates them) Appearance: He is a dark, earthy brown, with darker brown points, which includes his legs, tail, face, the ridge along his back, and his wings. Black claws. Yellow eyes. Two sets of wings. He keeps his wings tucked closely to his sides most of the time. He seems to have a perpetual frown, but when he smiles its quite pleasant. When he uses his wings, he usually has to shake off dried mud and dirt from them as he stretches them out after leaving them unused for long periods of time (this being because he spends his time in caves/underground). Height: 15 feet (30 feet long) Personality: He is fairly grouchy and snappy most of the time, finding the people to have invaded his world annoying, but also finding them tolerable….they haven’t done anything yet to have made him feel the need to eat anyone. He looks intimidating, but he’s quite gentle and patient in his own irritated and bad tempered way. He finds it annoying when someone won’t shut up, and he doesn't talk much unless he thinks it’s important. He finds joy in ticking other dragons and people off though, because he knows he's intimidating enough and large enough to get away with it (he may apologize afterward). He doesn't like jerk-faces or anyone who thinks they can tell him what to do. Skills: Strategic thinker. He may have patience, but when it comes to fighting, he loses all of it. He isn't vicious fighter, and he likes to use strategy instead of brute force. Other: PASTA
Appearance: Gorsedd is a member of the Inva race of dragons, but is strongly characterized by looking more like a winged serpent, than an actual dragon, as one would envision. In length, she is notably small, being only 12 feet from the tip of her nose to her tail. Her body is not thin or fragile in appearance, however, but appears to be pure muscle, being as thick as 4 feet in diameter in her center of gravity. Adversely proportioned to her short length, her wings are of the largest known spans among her kind, being 32 feet. Gorsedd possesses four pairs of wings, arranged near the frontal part of her body, behind a long neck, as well as a single pair of legs.
Gorsedd’s wings are arranged in a unique fashion on her body, connected to the same central point of gravity, which makes her form more compact and in many ways, maneuverable in flight. Her wing pairs, arranged in two groups of four, consists of one upper pair of wings, located higher up on her back, resting a certain space above a lower pair that when opened points at a down-ward angle. This creates an X-wing appearance when viewed from the front, and Gorsedd (As she possesses four wing pairs) possesses two X-wings, one after the other, all having a wingspan of 32 feet. Gorsedd’s single pair of legs is located a little below the lower pair of the first set of X-wings, and is somewhat further forward. Her legs, because of this positioning, are compared to the front-legs of a creature, having only one joint like an arm or bird, with four fingers and a thumb tipped with sharp talons, and while used to hold up the frontal part of her body, she primarily uses slithering as locomotion, preferring her claws for handling things.
Gorsedd’s face is viper-like, having a distinct arrow-like shape to it, as well as pit-like organs between her nose and her eyes that make it possible for her to detect a heat signature. The scales on her face are smoother, save for sharp spike-like ones that accent her ‘cheeks’ or more precisely, the swollen areas of her skull that indicate her venom glands. She also has scaly horns that are straight and triangular in appearance that point backwards and begin at the very back of the skull, distinct from, a mane of shorter horn-like spikes that consist of five rows that increase along the back of her head in length. Because these horns are more like her scales, they possess the same coloration as the rest of her body. Gorsedd’s round eyes are contained within indentations on her skull, which hides them from above or below, although when looked at from the right angle, they catch the light like mirrors, because of the scales that cover and protect them. Gorsedd’s eyes are a golden color, although because they look strongly like the metal due to their reflective quality, it may be considered like bronze, or more precisely, brass, with elliptical or slitted pupils.
Gorsedd’s scales are like those of a venomous snake, possessing a raised ridge down their centers (Keeled scales) that result in her scales looking duller, although this is due more to light scattering, and up close, the flatter surfaces of her scales are actually quite sleek in appearance. This lack of a reflective quality is meant to make her more difficult to see, serving as natural camouflage and armor, as well. Gorsedd’s appearance is unique in that her coloration is made to conceal her from sight in the dark (during the nighttime) but make her appearance obvious in bright light (during the day).
The color of her scales is primarily a bright, blood-red color, which is the first color to vanish due to a lack of light. These colors fade to a darker brownish-maroon color running from the center towards the sides, and then, once the plate-like scales on her belly are reached, fade to a dark black. Closer towards the center of her back, the blood-red gradually dissipates into a hot-pink or magenta color, and finally, reaches a fire-yellow stripe that runs down her back in alternating fading shades mixing the color with bright orange. Around the edges of this orange-and-yellow stripe, there are alternating patches of black and white. The bottoms parts of Gorsedd’s legs and the undersides of her wings are black like her belly, rendering her shape invisible when viewed in flight during nighttime hours. The top of her wings possess a coloration that is pure black around the edges, and dappled with faded dark patches that strongly break-up their outline when viewed from above, which can disorient foes. The undersides of her entire body possess a unique structure (If viewed from a microscope) which reflects more light than the rest of her body, raising the illumination of her shape when viewed from below to that of the night sky, due to the reflection of light intended being minute traces from the core of Edgeworld.
On Gorsedd’s face, which is the base color of blood-red, her eyes are hidden by a series of three long black stripes that fade into a patch of creamy -yellow-white, which then fades back to the base color. These three black stripes further cause disorientation, because it makes one struggle to determine where they eyes actually are, because they also break up any outlines present. The lower half of Gorsedd’s face is black like the rest of her body. The inside of her mouth possesses sharp, needle-like teeth that are somewhat jagged and point backwards, and sharp, viper-like fangs are also present, ready to inject venom whenever needed. The flesh inside Gorsedd’s mouth is a pure, milk-white, excluding her black forked tongue.
Height: 4 feet (When standing, she slithers more than she stands)
Personality: Although she could be classified as Anti-Human, Gorsedd is actually a mystery when it comes to what she thinks about the alien beings from the gate, at times, though her beliefs are not extremist in nature, despite the fact that she joined the movement. She does not consider humans overall to be completely bad, because to stereotype an entire race would be wrong. In her personal opinion, it would not be a complete disaster if humans were to remain in Edgeworld, although she additionally believes that if they do, there would have to be some sort of regulation or balance in place. Because they are not dragons, either Inva or Amica, she generally regards the humans as humans would regard an extremely smart talking animal: something not the same as herself, despite possessing equal intelligence. It is with this in mind that Gorsedd bases her decisions off of the belief that if Inva and Amica did not stand above the Humans, it would be the other way around, because to think dragons and humans would be equal is too idealistic, as they are far too different to ever succeed in equality, and anyone who would think realistically would be forced to accept this hard, tragic fact.
Having a natural hunger for information and knowledge regarding important topics, Gorsedd was not afraid to investigate humans when they arrived in Edgeworld. They may have never noticed her as she flew over their settlements at night, due to her camouflage being able to so effectively trick eyes from below. It is because of this that she can understand the divide between humans who support returning to their original home, and those that wish to remain in her world, as well as human behaviors, to a more abstract degree. The actions of humans in response to dragon appearances has supported Gorsedd’s belief that to keep humans and dragons together with no clear superior would result in terrible consequences. Although Gorsedd would in no way be considered arrogant or proud, she would lay claim to the belief that as the beings that had been present in Edgeworld first, Amica and Inva should be superior to humans.
Other evidence that led to Gorsedd’s Anti-human beliefs is that they fled their home planet because of over-population, which leads her to believe that even if they made peace, in the future, their civilization would begin expanding, to the point that it began forcing Inva (since Inva prefer caves to sleep in and actually land) out of their habitats. She also believes that the humans might become aggressive, due to natural feelings of superiority over what they deem to be an animal, and therefore, would begin slaughtering the dragons for more territory. Gorsedd will generally eliminate any arguments against this belief with the claim that humans are not inclined to do things that would control their population, and that they naturally reproduce faster. She will also claim that while some humans would perhaps like dragons and be fine, there would always be hostility from both sides, regardless if generations passed with the races in peace, because of differences that were impossible to completely overlook. Gorsedd will claim this to be a prejudice that will never cease as long as humans and dragons remain in the same place.
Anti-human beliefs set aside, Gorsedd is not an arrogant, mean, or evil individual, and truthfully, is actually far more mild-mannered or peaceful than most Inva are. She does not like to fight, unless it is for a legitimate reason, and even then, she feels uncomfortable with it unless it is to kill prey for food. She is generally very sweet and nice to everyone, regardless of race, including humans, whom she pities, more than hates. Her natural manners and courtesy generally surprise most, and often they will immediately find that they like her. She is an extremely honest and open individual, who seldom tells lies, and therefore, can be trusted with information, secrets, and responsibility in equal measure.
This in mind, however, Gorsedd, while seldom known for possessing a temper, should never be seen as weak. She can often detect lies due to her intuition, and is a very capable and dangerous fighter, when she needs to be. Her kindness in no way should be mistaken for her being weak, and her small size does not mean she is inferior in strength, either; an opponent may be surprised by her power. She is often the most composed of any group, and regardless of her opinion on a situation, has enough focus to remain precise and deadly in nature.
Skills: Gorsedd, while unusually small compared to other Inva, is an extremely capable hunter, both on land and in the air. Her smaller size, but more compact body and larger wings, makes her natural build highly effective, regardless of the medium she would choose to engage a foe in. She can strike with viper-like speed on land, and her flight is far swifter than typical Inva, and generally more maneuverable than a large creature such as the Amica. It should also be noted that her natural coloration and scales render her invisible when viewed from below when it is night time. In many ways, while she is extremely small, Gorsedd is a very deadly opponent in battle, unless pinned down (Since large wings can also be a hindrance, and small size does not make her heavier).

Kyrath:
Name: Kyrath Gender: male Age: 38 Race: Dragon Ethnicity: Amica Faction: Anti-Human Appearance: Kyrath is fairly average in length for a dragon his age, but thin. He has three sets of wings, two larger sets near each other toward the front, and another smaller set halfway down his tail. At the tip of his tail he has a frill that can open and close to help him steer, almost like another set of wings. Instead of horns or ears, he has two curved plates that come out from the sides of his head. He has gold scales and wings, but his wingtips and the tip of a frill running down his back are bright blue that glows brighter when he has charged light. Height: about nine feet tall. Personality: Kyrath can be grumpy around new people, and greatly dislikes humans. He and his family used to live where the humans built their city, and were driven out when they arrived. Because most of the forest nearby was already claimed by other dragons, they ended up spending a long time running from place to place looking for food and shelter. Eventually he left his family so they could spread out, and has since insisted on living near the city so he can 'keep an eye on the humans'. While he will almost always choose other dragons over humans, he still remembers the ones that chased him out of the only shelter he could find, instead of helping him. He also knows that the younger humans did not cause this, and some of the older ones would rather go home now if they could. He tries to remember that when making decisions. Around friends, Kyrath can almost be considered noble. Most importantly, he is loyal to anyone he considers a friend, and will refuse to lie about anything. In fact, he considers lying to be the worst thing you can do to anyone, even your enemies. He can, occasionally, be pushed too far, and hold a grudge for a very long time if he believes he should. Skills: Kyrath prides himself on his flying. He may not be able to turn on a dime, but he can build up a lot of speed very quickly, and still retain the ability to turn decently. He is not, however, very good at hovering. Despite the speed he usually flies at, he can usually hit bolts of light roughly on target. He's not any better at charging them than anyone else, though. This looks like it'll be fun. I might join this. I do enjoy a really good SciFi story. This sounds like something I'd read by Clark or Asimov. It's origonal. I'll look at getting in a sheet tonight or tomarrow night.
My main issue would be there are days when I might not be able to post. Sometimes two or three in a row. My life is hectic sometimes. And no telling when my Step-mom might go nutzo on me and turn of the internet for whatever reason. She does that on a fairly regular basis.

That's okay. I don't plan on this going too quickly anyway.

Well good. I'm not joking about my step mom sadly. I use to think she was a control freak, but now she's worse.
Anyways I'm actually working on my Sheet right now. I'm trying to come up with a good name right now. Already decided on the faction and general personality.

I'll work on a sheet, although I would really like more information about the dragons, because if I can only make two characters, one will be a human and the other will be a dragon. I want to know what average sizes are, and such.

Right now I'm only working on a human. I've never been good at playing none human characters. The one I'm making right now is for keeping th gate closed. I might make a pro-earth character later.

I wrote that down and then completely forgot to put it in the post. Whoops. Lemme go edit that in.

Laser pistols are easy to get ahold of, but things become a little iffy when it comes to charging them up again when they run out of power. No one is technically supposed to have one unless they're part of the guard, buuut...
Basically if it's not attached to the wall and could be in your pocket, it probably still works and hasn't been confiscated. Gadgets like grappling gear, watches, personal entertainment devices. There's a few solar stations that are available for powering up little devices like that, but they aren't too efficient or designed to run the city. Using them is a privilege most citizens don't have, so technology is coveted.
The LARGEST thing that still works on Edgeworld are personal fliers, (they're rather like fancy hang-gliders that don't just glide, and you wear them like a suit) and those take days to recharge once they run out of juice.
What WOULD be confiscated is something like a hoverplane, bombs, large generator-powered things like that. Things that would be really handy in an emergency and either need a way to be charged or need to be fixed, so the Governor isn't allowing people to just use them willy-nilly.
Does that help?

So what about in terms of computers and the like? I tend to make tech focused characters so I'm trying to get an idea of what were allowed to use.

Schools would have computers, and maybe rich families, but not your average citizen.

Would it be helpful if I drew a basic picture of what the dragons look like?
I might just do that anyway but it'd be nice to know if it actually helped.
