It's a game that seems interesting to me, but I'm hesitant to buy it until it gets farther into development.

I've played the game for about 9 hours and I've already built everything there is to build. It updates fairly often though, and I know there's a ton of stuff they're still trying to implement.

Mechsuits! AHHH

Hey, a new guy! Nice to meet you! I'm Vipera, one of the administrators. I hope you enjoy Storyweb, and we're glad to have you here.

Also, at any rate, I don't usually play a lot of games, but I'll generally look at video games for costume design ideas. Lately, the best character designs that I found for that purpose are the animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's. I was going to make a Bonnie costume with his design from the original game, complete with artificial eyes with little LED lights in the pupils, and currently, I've finished part of his head by cutting out pieces from sheets of that blue construction styrofoam that you would typically buy for insulation in a house.

Today, though, I decided that I would go in a different direction, since I can still afford to change my plans.

The game's creator released the trailer for his fourth game recently, and the new Nightmare Animatronic designs are so scary that it actually made me a bit jumpy after seeing how the new gameplay is meant to look. There was, however, a few good screenshots of Nightmare Bonnie, enough that I decided I would switch from the original Bonnie design and try to make a costume that looked like that instead. Because of that, while I don't have to change what I'm currently doing, I've made my project much more difficult compared to how it would have worked out originally.

...in all truth, a lot of the costume's components will probably be bought at a hardware store. There's a lot metal bars, wires, and what looks like rubber lining involved.

Well, I've never actually played Five Nights at Freddy's, but I'm a fan of the mysteries and the concept behind the game. It's intentional that most of the lore is just speculation, because people are always trying to figure out how things happened in the storyline of the games. I kind of got interested because I looked it up one day out of curiosity (Everyone was talking about it), and liked a lot of the concepts behind it. The game's concept is pretty original, and I guess I liked that the characters managed to be scary without looking morbid. I'm really sensitive to things like graphic blood and gore in games, and I can't really handle seeing stuff like that very well; it's kind of disturbing for me to visually see it.

That in mind, the game itself isn't really considered that scary; it revolves a lot around just checking cameras and doing whatever you have to do to keep the animatronic characters from killing you. It's not really outright terrifying, just sort of creepy, and it mostly just badly startles people when they get a jump scare. Usually, you have to be the kind of person who gets tense and panicky under pressure to really see it as scary.

I wouldn't really say the fourth game is classified as simply 'creepy' though. The fourth game actually looks really scary, and I kind of admit that I was jumpy after watching the trailer for it. Regardless, as a costume idea, all of those characters, despite it being a challenge to craft a costume, would be an awesome test of skills, and would be extremely cool if it turns out well.

Ahhh FNAF, the Micro-Managing Simulator.
Ok now that I've got that out of the way I think FNAF is actually pretty neat. The story is spooky and somewhat unique. I absolutely love the song The Living Tombstone made for FNAF2.
( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk-aCL6eyGc ) ((IT'S ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD AGH))
I don't think FNAF is that 'brilliant' of a game though. It's actually pretty mediocre, but it makes up for it with story... and mystery of course....But the fanbase. Oh the fanbase. I can't stand the fanbase. 9 year old kids and furries everywhere screaming about shipping animatronics and-- GHH DO THEY EVEN CARE ABOUT THE STORY?! NOOOO. I had an eight year old kid send me pornographic Gmod posters that he'd made involving Chica and Bonnie. Seriously?!

But yeah other than the fanbase and 'meh' gameplay I rather like FNAF simply because it's got a story behind it that is deeper than your average horror game.

If we're talking about scary games (oh no I'm sure I've yelled about this enough already) I prefer SCP Containment Breach, which is a completely unfunded free-to-play game and it absolutely terrifies me. Very Happy And it has 10 times more story than FNAF ever could. And I believe it updates every month or so...
( http://www.scp-wiki.net/ ) <--thousands and thousands of pages of story/information/setting

But, they're completely different genres I guess. Even so, if another kids tells me that Foxy could kill SCP-682 I might just snap.

Foxy is my favorite animatronic and 682 is my favorite SCP. Sorry Foxy, but I think 682 would just eat you. :/

IN OTHER NEWS...
...DARKY CAN I DRAW THARAN AGAIN?

YES YOU CAN!!! AS MUCH AS YOU WANT LOL.

Also, I've been meaning to look into SCP Containment Breech. I have found myself spending entire days (the rare free weekends are great lol) just reading the entries on the SCP website. So fascinating and so terrifying. They really do a good job. I've been considering writing my own there recently.

I've never heard of SCP Containment Breach before. Researching it with the links you gave me, it looks like a game with themes that are right up my alley. The information about the subjects being contained looks scientific, with logs and records about incidents or research relating to them. It's like people actually do things along the lines of medical studies on stuff, and there's specific classifications and containment levels. There's a lot of fine details that I really admire, and some of the stuff isn't purely scientific-looking; there's a bit of supernatural-ish stuff in there, too. Not only is there all this really close attention to the little things, but the organization in the game is actually avid about making sure that anything dangerous doesn't harm people. I can say that it definitely looks like a really good game, and I'm absolutely positive that what you're saying about the storyline having more to it is true.

Five Nights at Freddy's is pretty much like an opposite compared to Containment Breach, even though both of the games are classified as horror. Instead of people rationally acknowledging that there's a problem and investigating, or containing something that they know is dangerous so that it can't hurt anyone, the company that owns the animatronic characters doesn't do anything to protect its workers and staff. They leave the animatronics in the same state they were in originally, and just tell the player that if they get killed, then the death will get covered up and the company will just file a missing-person report (I'm pretty positive that the stuff they're doing is very illegal). In the end, the story is mostly about a very shady restaurant chain that doesn't really care as much about its workers as it does its public image, and paranormal activity causing the animatronics to behave in a homicidal manner. It has an unconventional idea behind it, by focusing on things like the animatronics in a pizzeria similar to Chuck E. Cheese's, and the animatronics are spooky and there's a bit of mystery behind it, but that doesn't mean there's a whole lot of depth.

One thing I can say, though, is that I'm not exactly a huge fan of the fan base, either. I don't really care for shipping. Sometimes you can't seem to really avoid it, and it stinks because once someone ships a pair of characters, then everyone else comes in and either gets super-crazy excited over it because it's their favorite pairing, or they rant and rave and get angry because they hate the pair and insist that X and Y should be together, not whoever. It would be better if fan-made stuff didn't involve shipping at all. It's especially bad that kids whose age groups fall into single-digit numbers would be producing pornographic images. That's not right.

Another note, if SCP-682 ever met Foxy, or any one of the animatronics, I seriously don't think that the animatronics would win. That thing is practically indestructible.

Of all of the genres of games I've played, horror is one of the few I have not played. I have a great amount of respect for horror games, but I've never played any due to the fact I can get scared so easily. Heck, I used to get too scared to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and other games like that when I was younger.

Need I say more?

Certainly scary bit that's nothing compared to the SCPs, lol.

Granted, that thing is creepy, but some of the descriptions of the SCP monsters I'm seeing make that thing look pretty harmless. Of course, it's not just the scary stuff, there's completely weird things in the SCP database, too.

Did anyone else see the 'wonder bread' article? Apparently, using that wonder bread formula makes loaves of bread that are sentient and wander around. Not really dangerous, but I think making the bread sentient and capable of feeling pain kind of defeated its primary purpose...

Oh yes I remember wonder bread lmao. My favorite ones though are probably SCP-055, SCP-027, SCP-058, and SCP-231. But keep in mind I haven't read most of the series 2 and 3. I still have much reading to do.

But I find SCP-231 to be terrifying. It took me a while to really understand what it was saying. It's already creepy sounding, but once you realize what it's talking about... It's quite disturbing lol.

The one that freaks me out the most is 096...
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-096

...And the incident reports for 096 are just terrifying.
http://www.scp-wiki.net/incident-096-1-a

...And this is what he's like in the actual game. Bit glitch but scary nonetheless.
https://youtu.be/XQjItC15p4M?t=37s

Coincidentally I put 096 into my Gmod game and sometimes I'll spawn him in just to give myself a scary challenge ahahaha....ha..ha... *cries*

Ooooohhh I remember that one. Creepy. I remember watching a few youtube videos about it. They used the incident reports and made audio readings of them.

Oh...I just found another weird-looking SCP. Apparently, there's a meadow somewhere and every so often it rains fish.

That's weird lol.

I read one about a box that makes a strange ticking sound like something is going to happen when it counts down. Anyone who hears it is convinced they must stop the ticking sound. If they open the box they won't find anything inside, but the ticking will still continue.
